Dear Editor,
After reading last week's letter
to the editor, I felt compelled to re-
spond because the Lee Qualm por-
trayed in that letter is pure fiction.
I have known Lee Qualm for years
and find him to be a very good man,
a man of principles not swayed by
political expediency. He is a man
of high integrity with strong family
values and ties to South Dakota who
weighs his decisions carefully aim-
ing to do the right thing for all South
Dakotans. He is a man willing to
get out of his vehicle and walk
down the route of a parade to shake
the hand of his supporters and non-
